Conference 2018 Key Note Speakers
Lisa Van Gemert AAGC is excited to welcome Lisa Van Gemert as our keynote speaker on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Lisa is the author of the book, "Perfectionism: A Practical Guide to Managing “Never Good Enough” and of the site, “The Gifted Guru.” She is a frequent conference keynote speaker, facilitator of educational and business professional development, expert consult to television shows, and author of articles published in magazines and peer-reviewed journals. Lisa will share information, strategies, and resources for those who know, love, and guide gifted individuals.

 
 
Dr. Richard Cash
  AAGC is proud to announce that Dr. Richard Cash will by our keynote speaker on Friday, October 19, 2018. Richard serves on various boards and associations, such as the World Council on Gifted Education, ASCD, and The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). He has served as the Administrator of Gifted Programs in Rochester, Minnesota, and the Director of Gifted Programs for the Bloomington Public Schools in Minnesota. Dr. Cash has authored numerous articles on quality instructional practices and a popular teacher resource guide,  Advancing Differentiation: Thinking and Learning for the 21st Century (Revised Updated)He co-authored the book Differentiation for Gifted Learners: Going Beyond the Basics with Dr. Diane Heacox. His newest book, Self-Regulation in the Classroom: Helping Students Learn How to Learn was released in 2016.

The mission of the Alabama Association for Gifted Children is to provide advocacy, leadership, and support to assist educators, parents, and community partners in meeting the educational and affective needs of Alabama's gifted children and youth.
