ESL Summer Camp

Indian Springs School is hosting an English as a Second Language (ESL) Summer Camp from Wednesday, July 24, through Tuesday, August 6, 2024!

This two-week camp is a unique opportunity for students to study the English language while connecting with students from around the world. Our ESL camp is open to rising 6th through 11th-grade students (2024-2025 school year). Students who sign up for the ESL camp will take a two-hour English language course each morning with Neil Barrett, a faculty member in the Indian Springs English department.

After lunch, students will take a one-hour American Film and Media course taught by James Griffin, Indian Springs English department chair. In the afternoons, students will participate in different cultural activities that will allow them to practice their English and learn unique aspects of American culture and history (examples include trips to Birmingham-area attractions such as the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, visits to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, minor-league baseball team Birmingham Barons games, and more).

ESL camp attendance has been capped at 14 students to keep class sizes small and to permit students to receive maximum personal attention and support. The cost is $7,000.00 (USD), and a down payment of $1,500.00 is required to secure your spot. Classes, lodging, meals, rides to and from the airport, and all activities are included in the cost. It does not include flights to/from Indian Springs School. (Extra expenses families may incur include sheets, blankets, pillows, toiletries, bath towels, and books).

For more information, please contact Director of Enrollment Management Taylor Docking at taylor.docking@indiansprings.org.
